This morning we recognized that our 13-ish year old rescue, Pearl, was at the point where it was better for her to move on than hold on to her. We were already aware of a mass in her lower abdomen, and had come to the decision that attempting to address the issues would have caused more suffering. We knew she was on limited time, we just didn't know how long. I could hardly speak when I called this morning to see if Downtown Animal Hospital would be able to see us, since it was late morning, and they were closing at noon. The young lady who took my call was patient and caring, knowing I was struggling through my emotions to just answer her questions. While we have our regular vet, they were closed and reached out to Downtown Animal Hospital in an effort to help us end Pearl's suffering and help her move on. After making the appointment I was wanting time to stop, as I hated to see my dear Pearl move one. The staff and Dr. Woolman exhibited heartfelt care and were very accommodating for us, as well as gently explaining the process. It was an emotional goodbye for us and Dr. Woolman and his staff did an amazing job helping us with this difficult inevitability. A shout out to Downtown Animal Hospital for their amazing job in helping Pearl, my wife and I say our goodbyes. It was reassuring to be able to send Pearl off to Brahms's Lullaby, which we used to play for her when we told her goodnight when she first became part of our family.

I would like to thank everyone at Downtown Animal Hospital for their care of Abby "Barbara Bush" up until the very end. We are heartbroken over our loss, but to know she was loved and cared for by all the staff that she encountered in the clinic as well as the boarding staff over the last 12 years gives my heart such joy. Your card was beautiful and such a true testament to who our baby was. Thank you again from the Guillory Family!

I love this place. My dog has been at Downtown Animal Hospital since I got him almost 7 yrs ago. We moved went to another Vet and I hate it. We had to come back home.

We have been bringing our three cats to Downtown since the start of 2026, after switching from another clinic, and have had nothing but great experiences. It has the feel of your traditional town vet clinic, and our vet Dr. Martin has always gone above and beyond. Our oldest cat has had some recent health issues and she always makes us and our kitties feel cared for and listened to. It feels less and less common these days to have providers who truly care, and I can’t recommend DAH enough. ❤️
